4-Day Albanian Alps
About this experience
This is the north. The real north, before the road improvements, before the guesthouses got busy, while the trails are still quiet. Four days that start on a private boat on the Shala River and end with a cold mountain breakfast before the drive back. The centrepiece is Day 3: the Valbona to Theth hike. Sixteen kilometres across an alpine pass on a path that has been a trading route for centuries. It's demanding, and it's one of the great hikes in Europe. Everything else, the river gorge, the village guesthouses, the Blue Eye of Theth, is earned context. Ardit guides this trip personally.

What to expect
Day 1: Early departure from Tirana. Private boat through the gorge to Shala Beach. Swim, dinner and overnight at Blini Park guesthouse
Day 2: Ferry to Fierza and transfer to Valbona. Rest and a walk into the valley, overnight in Valbona
Day 3: The Valbona to Theth hike over the pass. A full mountain day at altitude. Overnight in Theth
Day 4: Morning in Theth, the Blue Eye of Theth and village sights, then the drive back to Tirana
Meeting Point
Your Tirana accommodation. Very early Day 1 pickup. This trip is guided personally by Ardit. Share your fitness level and any prior hiking experience when you enquire. It helps design the right pace for your group. Minimum 10 days' notice required.
Who this is for
Fit hikers with proper footwear who want to see the Albanian Alps on foot. The Valbona to Theth pass is a full mountain day at altitude and is not optional. Bring hiking boots and layers. Minimum 4 participants required.
